This is for Debra...not mojo, really, but something....

There were fabric bins on the counter on Sunday...well, bin, actually, singular...  I'm not making anything huge but it is huge in the sense that I haven't sewn anything in a very long time and now I'm gonna.  I'm making a couple of pin cushions...hah...baby steps, but steps nonetheless... I wanted them in 30s colors, bright and cheerful.  I knew I was going to have to make them, get out the fabrics, and cut, and pin, and sew...they were not going to just appear in front of me in a nice neat package already made and waiting for the gifting for which they are intended... I have not gone nutso and so far as to uncover the sewing machine because that would entail finding it under the piles of sh...uh...stuff that has been accumulating for months on my table and on the floor and, really, ev.er.y.where in my sewing room.  I just don't have the time for that job with all the preparations for our trip which starts Sunday...but I CAN hand piece them...in odd monents here and there, and in the evenings in front of the TV as I watch my soap or whatever else I have on the DVR waiting...or maybe I can concentrate on them while the screechers and the poor souls get their hearts broken on the Idol tryouts...

I have to say that I got a little touch of that excited feeling in my stomach that I used to get whenever I'd cut out a new project...back in the bad old days when I was a quilting maniac...it was a nice finish to my Sunday afternoon...

PS:  It is raining and gusting like absolute CRAZY right now...a good day to cozy in...I'm loving it!
