Ok, just a little bone to pick.  I'm sort of a word junkie. I read a lot and write a lot and I have a fairly firm grasp on the rules of grammar, spelling, and writing.  I am usually pretty easy going; I don't really care what people say.  However, sometimes the WAY they say it gets under my skin.  One thing that has been bugging the hell out of me lately is something I see and hear more and more, and from adults, even though it always used to be something I'd hear from kids.  That is the term 'anyways.'  What is that??????  AnywayS?  With an 'S', people???????????????????  I see this and hear this from otherwise intelligent, well educated people, people I respect and admire and whose blogs I look forward to reading each day or whose conversations I enjoy. There is no 'S' on the end of this word.  IMO it makes whatever has been said less valid and fade from my attention because I can't get past that word.  It stands out and makes me want to scream.  I realize this is an over-reaction on my part.  It is not important.  But it grates on me and seems to be seeping into generally accepted use.  Like, uh...using "like" every other word, and using texting shorthand in everyday language. I really wish it didn't bother me but it does.  I am pretty sure that the people using it don't even know they are, or care.  Unimportant.  Silly of me to care. Ok. End of rant.  Sorry.  Don't hate. I'm just expressing my opinion, and wonder if there are others out there that care about the evolution of our language.
